Honor Ride Crane

The 3rd annual Honor Ride Crane (f/k/a Crane CycleFest) will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2012. This event supports the physical and mental rehabilitation programs of injured servicemen and women that feature cycling as the core activity. Cycling is an important part of the recovery process because it is an activity that almost all patients with mental and physical disabilities can participate, and it speeds the rehabilitation process.

THIS IS A CLOSED COURSE EVENT WITH RIDING ROUTES PASSING THOURGH AN ACTIVE MILITARY BASE
NO CARS, NO TRUCKS, and NO DOGS! Only official vehicles will be allowed on the route during the event.

This ride offers routes of 15, 30, 50, and 65 miles. The Crane Naval base was originally set aside as a national forest area until World War II when it became a large ammunition manufacturing and storage facility. Nearly all of the 100 square miles is still forest and has received numerous environmental awards from the Department of Natural Resources.
